We started our trip up in Loch Awe, where we stayed in a lovely B&B with these views just a short hike away.
Then it was over to the Island of Mull, single track roads with more amazings views brought us to Toblemoray
lots of sheep and cute lambs on the side of the roads everywhere
the next day we drove around Mull through all kinds of weather and when the sun came out we took the ferry to Iona - where could you find another deserted beach like this?
these black sheep are specially bred for their wool to be used in Mull Weavers
the loom all threaded up
to create blankets like these, very expensive!
found these on our way to the ferry
and colours like these, just begging to be turned into quilt art
finally a truly Scottish scene on the edge of Loch Awe, with snow capped mountains in the background. You don't really need to go to New Zealand for moments like this.
another arty view of the quilts in the church.
From Wednesday till Saturday next week we will be at the Loch Lomond Quilt Show with our collection of dresses on show for the first time, launching our new book 'Collections' and I will be teaching the Black Magic Workshop on Friday 17th May. I think there are still places available.
The dresses are the ones on top of this page, they will be displayed with accessories and stories.
Please come and say hello!
The courses are almost finished, just a couple of catch up days due to the January snow this week, but here are some of the (almost) finished projects that are now coming in. Also my new book is ready and will be delivered next week. Available only from the website as soon as they are in. We're in Scotland next week for the Loch Lomond Quilt Festival where we are exhibiting the series of dress quilts for the first time - I will also be teaching the very popular Black Magic Workshop on Friday 17th May, still a couple of places available - check it out on their website lochlomondquiltshow.com for more information.
I've also organised a couple of Colour Play Days, one with dyes in July and one with Printing in August, more details on the workshop page. Now enjoy the photographs....

Hello and welcome to my new blog, I'm posting some pictures of my students work on last week's course. They have been dyeing, discharge printing and overprinting their fabrics and now they face the difficult task of cutting them up.
Wishing you all a Happy and Hopefully Sunny Easter!
